Homecoming details

The team will be in Duggan Park Ballinasloe at 5PM.

From there the team will make their way to Clarinbridge for 7PM. Gates will open from 6pm.

The event will provide supporters from across the county with an opportunity to welcome home captain Carrie Dolan, manager Cathal Murray, the players, management and backroom team following today’s All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final at Croke Park.

The homecoming event is being organised by Galway Camogie and Clarinbridge GAA, with the support of Galway County Council.

Leas Cathaoirleach of the County of Galway, Cllr Michael Regan, said the team had given the county every reason to be proud.

“Despite yesterday’s disappointment, this team has represented Galway with immense pride, showing the resilience, skill and determination that are the hallmark of Galway camogie.”

“Reaching a sixth All-Ireland Final in eight years reflects the strength of the game across our county. Today’s homecoming will give the people of Galway an opportunity to welcome home and recognise this outstanding team.”

Chief Executive of Galway County Council, Liam Conneally, said the players’ achievements deserved to be recognised.

“Reaching another All-Ireland Final reflects years of commitment and investment in Galway camogie. It is a tribute to the players and management, as well as the volunteers, coaches, parents and clubs who have built such strong foundations for the game.”

“These players have been outstanding ambassadors for Galway and have inspired future generations. We encourage supporters from across the county to join us in Clarinbridge today and thank the team for the pride and enjoyment they have brought to Galway throughout the championship.”

Parking

Parking will be available for the Galway Camogie team’s homecoming at Clarinbridge this evening as follows:

Travelling from south Galway: park in Kilcornan/Brothers of Charity, Clarinbridge National School and Paddy Burkes.

Traveling from the City and East Galway: park responsibly on the main Galway Road and Maree Road.

There will be limited parking at the GAA Club and the rear of the Church car park for early arrivals. Please respect instructions from the stewards.
